GUIDELINES FOR EVALUATION OF NOMINATIONS FOR
ESI INDUSTRY AWARD 2023
Objectives:
- Innovations/inventions made in plant protection in any areas that can enable farmers to protect crops, increase profits, minimize environmental damage, save money and materials without compromising on efficacy, etc.
Broad areas:
- Bio-pesticides (microbials and macrobials), chemical pesticides/fungicides, weedicides (biological/chemical), botanical insecticides, pheromones, pest/disease resistant biotech (transgenic) crops, equipment/instrumentation, consultancy services, digital media/apps etc.
Innovations/inventions in any of the following:
- Product development
- Formulations – bio-pesticides, chemicals, pheromones, etc.
- Production technologies
- Storage
- Monitoring – satellite mapping, digital technologies, etc.
- Application technologies – improved instruments, precision in application, seed coating, drones, etc.
- Scale of production and area of coverage
- Patents, if any
Note: These are suggestive areas but not exhaustive.The applicants are requested to highlight their innovations/inventions under objectives, achievements, extent of use and benefits and any other relevant issues in about 250 words, with suitable claims for each claim.
EVALUATION OF AWARD (SCORING): 100 MARKS
1. Background and experience – 10 marks
2. Projects handled – 10 marks
3. Coverage in terms of production/sale/manufacture/other measurable output – 20 marks
4. Innovation/patents/copyright/publication – 20 marks
5. Public outreach/stake holder outreach – 10 marks
6. Other achievements – 10 marks
7. Award committee – 20 marks
